Guests have use of half of the bungalow's porch. Since there is no smoking allowed in the house, this can be handy for those who smoke. It's also a nice spot to sit and watch the squirrels or visit with the neighbors.
Behind the house is one of Speedway's newest additions, a rails-to-trails walking/biking path, which is pictured above. There is additional parking next to it too, in case the spaces in front of the house are filled for some reason.
Thanks to a grant worth more than $4.5 million, the walking/biking path will eventually extend 17.5 miles. It will connect the White River Parkway, future Michigan Street improvements, the near west, the town of Speedway (that's us), the far west side of Marion County to the middle of Hendricks County. In other words, it will run from County Road 50 West in Lizton to downtown Indianapolis. Construction is scheduled for completion by December 2022. Until then, it's already a nice place to get some exercise. We see a lot of families using it, which is nice.
We're just one block from Speedway's Main St. too, which is a nice place for a stroll and/or dinner out. Learn more about it under the "Speedway" section under "Area Info."
